Head of Product / SaaS Product Manager

[This is a full-time, fully-remote role - no agencies or recruiters please]

Motorsport is a massive global sport practiced by local weekend warriors up to the elite racers of Formula 1. For anyone with the passion, MotorsportReg.com is the best place to organize, find and attend racing and motorsport events. We are like Eventbrite or Active.com for anything with an engine: racing, track days, autocross, drifting, motorcycles, karts and rally.

Our software manages 5,000 events, hundreds of thousands of registrations and tens of millions of dollars annually on behalf of our customers. We are the number one commerce platform for motorsport events and are growing rapidly domestically and abroad.

We are hiring our first Product Manager who will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for turning vision into reality. Your work will be needle-moving with little-to-no bureaucracy in a nine-person, distributed team.

Who We’re Looking For

As our first Product Manager, you'll take over responsibility for product vision, velocity and quality. This is a high-profile role both inside the team and in front of our customers as the person representing the user, gathering requirements, defining and prioritizing the product and shepherding the execution. You will want lots of ownership and take accountability for the results:

  • Work with the CEO to build a clear product strategy. Build, drive and manage a product roadmap against that strategy by gathering user requirements from qualitative and quantitative sources.
  • Envision new product features and drive their creation, including writing specs and stories, making wireframes, detailing goals, defining KPIs, and working with the design/development team to get them into users’ hands.
  • Own a disciplined process for breaking business goals into well-defined executable stories and keeping those stories in a clear priority order.
  • Grow ARPA while keeping churn in check. Measure satisfaction using NPS and surveys.
  • Communicate strategy, roadmap and metrics internally and externally to inspire

You'll be a good fit for the role and our team if you have:

  • A proven track record of shipping public-facing software, particularly SaaS.
  • Passion for getting out of the office and to the racetrack to observe and engage with users at their events
  • Technical experience - engineering degree not required but you will be the driving force behind converting complex business requirements into simple user experiences.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills in a fast-moving environment where decisions may be made with limited information
  • Comfort working in a distributed software team as a remote worker or freelancer or self-employed. This is critical.

You're taking over one of the most important duties in the company - to say this is a key role in a growing organization is an understatement. When we sell people on the vision that we make motorsport events easier and more fun, you will own our delivery on that promise.

Whether you have 100 octane running through your veins or you've never stepped foot on a racetrack, every day you'll work with checkered-flag-waving enthusiasts who love us for supporting their sport. Be prepared for a lot of high fives and hugs from passionate users.

Who We Are

We are an all-remote, nine-person team supporting 1,000 clubs, racetracks and sanctioning bodies around the globe with two products: MotorsportReg is our event registration platform and marketplace, and RaceHero is our live timing and race results app.

We stay connected as a team with Slack and Google Hangouts. Our backlog is currently managed in Pivotal Tracker. We hold one all-hands meeting per week. Everyone has a monthly 1:1 with the CEO to discuss your needs and goals (see our current format).

We are an inclusive workplace. People who are smart and get things done come in all colors, genders, orientations, religions and backgrounds and are welcome in our professional but casual team environment. You can learn more about who we hire and reward:

We have deadlines like everyone else, but we value work-life integration and do not expect routine long hours. A well-rested, disciplined performer will deliver substantially more in 40-45 hours than a team of burnouts sitting in front of a screen 60-70 hours a week. We measure results, not hours.

  • Flexible vacation policy with minimum 2 weeks per year
  • Work anytime from anywhere with 4+ business hours overlap with US/Central
  • Travel twice annually for week-long team get togethers in fun locations
  • Strong company culture and influence - won't be a cog in the machine on our team

We offer significant work/life integration, an environment where craftsmanship matters and competitive pay in exchange for high-impact results.
